Shelby Taloa RN, BSN has been actively utilizing her nursing degree in cannabis and plant therapy education since 2015. Shelby RN, BSN sought after her own use when her awareness with her own opiate addiction had debilitated her full potential. She weighed an astounding 350 pounds, was consuming up to 13 oxycodone daily and that is not including the other pharmaceutical medications she had been prescribed for comfort.
Shelby RN, BSN felt that her avenue for support was with cannabis and asked for support from her loved ones if she could go and get a medical marijuana card. Shelby RN, BSN immediately noticed that her education and knowledge of cannabis needed to be redirected when going into the dispensary settings. Cannabis was a whole “different breed” from when she was younger, and she noticed consumption needed to be handled appropriately. At that time Shelby RN, BSN was a young mother of 3, working as a medical assistant, taking care of a sick spouse, and working towards her nursing degree.
Within the first 4 months of consumption, Shelby RN, BSN had lost a total of 50 pounds, her movement was much more free, her motivation was much more profound, and she immediately went searching for how she could assist others with her nursing career and cannabis education.
Shelby RN, BSN has been an active member of the American Cannabis Nurses Association all during her nursing school, has presented in many arenas to support patients and clients with questions and concerns. Has been a community advocate with multiple companies and advocacy groups that help step out of the box and utilize her voice, assisting, redirecting, and supporting patients when coming into healthcare and dispensary settings. Shelby RN, BSN has been actively working bedside the last fours years and maintaining her own Registered Cannabis Nursing Business ready to inspire others to seek a better quality of life with cannabis and plant therapies.
